Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Epilogue:
It is World War II.
You are recruited by U.S. Army Secret Actions - division.
Your name is William Blazkowich.
You were doing a mission in Egypt, but something goes wrong..

Single Player:
So, you will captured by nazis and you have been thrown to a cell in the Castle Wolfenstein at the beginning, and your agent friend is being tortured at the start.
You will be next, if your partner doesn't tell who you work for.
The guard is coming to get you, and you hide to roof of the cell, and fall down to the guard.
The guard dies, and you get his Luger, and get hell out of the Castle.
The Single Player has 7 Missions, each of  'em has 3-7 parts in it.
Single Player is killing Germans, and their own created monsters.
You are the source of the headquaters in the America, and you do your objectives as you have been told.
The game ends when you beat the Übersoldat = Supersoldier, which has 2 Venoms and a Panzerfaust.

Weapons:
You will have quite a big collection of weapons, when the game goes on.
Here are the weapons you can get during the game (These are also the slots which you press to use the weapon):

1) Knife

2) Pistol (Luger, Colt .45, dual wield avaible at some part of the game)

3) Submachine Guns (SMG) (MP40,Thompson,Sten (can overheat by shooting too fast)

4) Sniper-Rifles (Mauser Rifle (this weapon is scopeless at the most part of the game, and its M1 Garand actually (Developers have messed 'em up), FG42)

5) Assault Rifles
6) Explovises (Dynamite (5,10,15,30 seconds), Pineapple, "Potato Masher")

7) Rocket Launcher (Panzerfaust, after shooting 30 sec loading time)

8) Minigun (Venom, it can overheat if you shoot it too fast)

9) Flamethrower

0) Tesla cannon (An electric weapon)

The weapons use different kind of calibres (ammo):

9mm (MP40,Luger,Sten)

.45 Calibre (Colt,Thompson)

7.92mm (Mauser Rifle, FG42)

There is also mounted weapons (MG42) which are used by Germans, and Americans at some times.
They are pretty inaccurate when shooting far, so i don't recommend to use them in other than close-combats, where are lots of enemies.

Multiplayer:
This part of the game is the best, if you buy the game this is must! Accept no substitutes!
The multiplayer works pretty easy, but attractive gameplay.
It's battle against Axis versus Allies, which collect flags where they spawn ,and collect objectives or destroy a target (the attacking side).
The attacking side can be the both sides example. Mp_Depot.
There is a time that attacking side will do their objective or the defensive side win.

There are 4 classes (in the normal mod):

1) Soldier:
He is the regular soldier in the field.
He can use all of the weapons (own side weapons)
Example. Panzerfaust, Flamethrower and Mauser Rifle.
He doesn't have any special ability.

2) Engineer:
The demolition expert, he can break a wall with his dynamites, and knife with his fuse tool :)
He can only use the stantard weapon of his side (MP40, Thompson) Clip of (30/30)
His special ability is to break the targets with his dynamite.

3) Medic (My favorite :) :
Maybe the most important guy on the Multiplayer, he can heal and revive others.
He can only use the stantard weapon of his side (MP40, Thompson) Clip of only (30/0)
His special ability is to heal and revive other (heal packs heal 20 points instantly), and his maximium health is 140.

4) Lieutenant:
Provides ammo to teammates, and gives artillery support.
He can use both sides stantard weapons (MP40, Thompson) and Sten clip of (30/30)
His special ability is to give artillery support and resupply others.

There is few mods in RTCW, and some of them has 4 more classes.
I only go them trough:

Spy: Can mask to othersides outfit, his knife is also 2x deadlier (warning. outfit will change back if you use Submachine Guns)

Pilot: Can fly by pressing space down (warning. Jetpack will broke, and you will die, if you press it too long)

"CO" = Commanding Officer = Has a shotgun, and set checkpoints to land (if he is alive)

Scout: Has 2x walking/running speed to compared a normal soldier, and he always uses Sten.

Here is some maps, which are popular at Multiplayer:

Mp_Depot ( Maybe the most popular map on the Wolfenstein (normal mod) both sides attack, 2 mainbases and a objective to defense, Dynamite Destroy )

Mp_Tram ( Also popular map with mountains and 4 trams (My favorite) (Axis defense and Allies attack, Dynamite Destroy + objectives) )

Mp_Assault ( 2 mainbases, and both are defensing and attacking, Dynamite Destroy)

Mp_Beach ( The rise of Normandy, Axis defends their objective in the bunker, and Allies try to get 'em, and transit them to own mainbase, "Dynamite Destroy (not necessarily needed) " Objective )

The requirements of the game are minimal:

400mhz AMD or Intel Processor
Windows 95OSR2/98/98SE/ME/NT4.0/2000/XP Operating System

128MB RAM
16MB Graphics card with OpenGL support
Direct 8.0a compatible grapichs card
4x Speed CD-ROM
16-bit Video mode
1,1GB Hard-drive space

With 256-megs of ram, 1,2 GHz processor and 64meg graphic card you should be able to play this game with no lag.

The Multiplayer requires at least 56,6 kpbs modem ( i have played this game with 64 kpbs modem with no lag)

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is based on a Quake 3 Arena game-engine, and it's publisher is Activision and developers are ID, Gray Matter and Nerve.

There are almost 1000 players playing the game daily, and game running servers above 200, even though it's pretty old.

The newest patch of the game is 1.41b.
